BodyTite Skin Tightening
Quintessence Plastic Surgery is proud to serve Austin, West Lake Hills, Davenport, Rob Roy, Steiner Ranch, Northwest Hills, and surrounding areas.
When it comes to reaching your body goals, losing those extra pounds is just the first part of the journey. Once you have lost all those extra pounds, you may notice that you now have a lot of loose skin in areas like your tummy and upper arms. You may also notice bumps, lumps, divots, and dents on the drooping excess skin.
While procedures like a tummy tuck and arm lift can be performed to tighten the skin, surgery is not always the only option. At Quintessence Plastic Surgery in Austin, we offer skin tightening using BodyTite. This non-surgical approach to skin tissue tightening can give you amazing results and help you finally reach your body goals.
How Does BodyTite Work?
Traditional skin-tightening procedures focus on getting rid of excess skin through surgical excision. Incisions are made in the area, loose skin is cut free, and the remaining skin is tightly pulled together and sutured closed.
While effective, this approach is not ideal for everyone. Some may be wary of undergoing surgery, while others may be worried about having noticeable post-surgical marks on their body.
BodyTite in Austin is a minimally invasive procedure that improves the appearance of loose saggy skin and other tissue using radio-frequency technology. BodyTite can help to tighten, lift, and shape the areas of your body most affected by weight loss.
The BodyTite system utilizes a special device that consists of a thin metal cannula and an electrode. The cannula is inserted under the skin, while the electrode remains outside the body on the surface of the skin. The cannula emits radio-frequency energy towards the electrode as the device is moved around the area.
The heat created by the radio-frequency energy helps to melt away small amounts of fat to give the skin a more even surface. At the same time, it stimulates the production of collagen in the skin, which causes the skin to tighten.
Is BodyTite Right for Me?
BodyTite is an excellent option for any person dealing with mild to moderate sagging skin around areas like the tummy, thighs, knees, lower body, butt, breasts, and arms. It is the ideal option for individuals looking for excellent results with less swelling and bruising and a shorter recovery period. It is important to note that BodyTite cannot replicate the results that are possible through surgery performed by a highly skilled professional.
BodyTite can be used to enhance the results provided through liposuction. However, BodyTite is not an alternative to liposuction procedures and cannot be used to eliminate larger pockets of excess fat.

The BodyTite Session
The duration of your BodyTite procedure in Austin will depend on the number of sites you want to treat and the size of the treatment area(s). On average, a BodyTite procedure takes between one and three hours.
The treatment will start with the administration of anesthesia. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr. White will make a small incision in the treatment area. The BodyTite RF-energy probe will be inserted via the incision, while another probe is positioned on the surface of the skin. The RF energy that flows between the probes works to heat and liquify fat cells and causes collagen fibers to contract.
Recovery and Aftercare
BodyTite is an outpatient procedure, so you will be able to go home the same day as your treatment. Bruising, swelling, numbness, soreness, and/or redness can occur after a BodyTite procedure. Dr. White may recommend that you wear a compression garment to minimize swelling and can provide further advice for easing post-treatment symptoms if needed. Total recovery time after BodyTite depends on how many areas were treated and the size of the treatment sites. During your consultation, Dr. White can estimate how much downtime you should expect based on your specific treatment.
What Is the Cost of a BodyTite Procedure?
The cost associated with a BodyTite treatment in Austin will reflect the extent of the procedure. Treating a single, small area costs less than treating multiple and/or larger areas. Combining BodyTite with liposuction will affect the total price of your treatment as well.
