Restore beauty everywhere. A labiaplasty is the most common vaginal rejuvenation procedure and reduces or reshapes the inner skin (labia minora) that covers the vaginal opening. Many women receive this procedure if they are unhappy with the appearance of their labia or experience irritation of the labia due to the redundant tissue. Surgical incisions usually heal quickly and are rarely noticeable.
Who is a Good Candidate for Labiaplasty?
Some women have significant redundancy of the labia minora tissue, making the labia minora bulky. Other women have labia minora that hang significantly below the labia majora (outer vaginal lips). Sometimes, this anatomy is the result of genetics. In other cases, the anatomy was altered when the tissues were stretched during childbirth.
Many patients are very self-conscious about the appearance of their labia. In addition, patients with bulky or hanging labia minora may experience pinching of the tissue in certain clothing or when participating in exercises such as bike riding. Sexual intercourse can be painful for the same reason. Also, there may be hygiene issues related to the redundant tissue. The labiaplasty procedure can address these issues and improve the patient’s overall comfort.
What are the Benefits of Labiaplasty?
- Reduced pain and discomfort
- Improved hygiene
- Enhanced sexual pleasure
- More comfort in clothing
- Increased confidence
