Labiaplasty & Vaginal Rejuvenation
Quintessence Plastic Surgery is proud to serve Austin, West Lake Hills, Davenport, Rob Roy, Steiner Ranch, Northwest Hills, and surrounding areas.
Restore beauty everywhere. A labiaplasty is the most common vaginal rejuvenation procedure and reduces or reshapes the inner skin (labia minora) that covers the vaginal opening. Many women receive this procedure if they are unhappy with the appearance of their labia or experience irritation of the labia due to the redundant tissue. Surgical incisions usually heal quickly and are rarely noticeable. At Quintessence Plastic Surgery, Dr. White performs labiaplasty for Austin patients’ vaginal-rejuvenation needs.
Who is a Good Candidate for Labiaplasty?
Some women have significant redundancy of the labia minora tissue, making the labia minora bulky. Other women have labia minora that hang significantly below the labia majora (outer vaginal lips). Sometimes, this anatomy is the result of genetics. In other cases, the anatomy was altered when the tissues were stretched during childbirth.
Many patients are very self-conscious about the appearance of their labia. In addition, patients with bulky or hanging labia minora may experience pinching of the tissue in certain clothing or when participating in exercises such as bike riding. Sexual intercourse can be painful for the same reason. Also, there may be hygiene issues related to the redundant tissue. The labiaplasty procedure can address these issues and improve the patient’s overall comfort.
What are the Benefits of Labiaplasty?
- Reduced pain and discomfort
- Improved hygiene
- Enhanced sexual pleasure
- More comfort in clothing
- Increased confidence
Your Labiaplasty Consultation
When you come to Quintessence Plastic Surgery for a consultation, Dr. Aisha White will listen to your goals and concerns regarding your labia. She will perform a physical exam and evaluate your medical records before discussing the details of her recommended surgical plan. She will be happy to answer all of your questions.
The labiaplasty procedure can last between one and two hours, depending on the extent of reshaping needed. Anesthesia will be administered to make the patient comfortable during the procedure.
This will be followed by creating small incisions. Excess fat and skin tissue will be trimmed. The incisions will be sutured before applying dressings to complete the procedure.
Dr. White will release the patient once their condition has stabilized. She will provide recovery instructions to make the healing process safe and smooth. The patient may experience minor symptoms such as swelling and bruising during recovery. Certain physical activities, including sex, will not be allowed for at least three to six weeks.
The patient cannot use a tampon for 10 days. Certain underwear, such as G-strings and thongs, should be avoided for about six weeks. Most patients can fully heal after three months. After this time, they will be able to see their full results.
How Much Does a Labiaplasty Cost?
The price of a labiaplasty varies depending on the techniques used during the procedure. Anesthesia fees will also be considered when determining the overall cost.
